Besides all that it was a very nice place to stay. The front desk lady was more than helpful and even booked our whale-watching trip. Housekeeping was great.

Beautiful view of the basin and a 10 minute drive from some great views along Digby Neck (about a 35-45 minute drive one way).

Our stay in general was OK. It's a bit older of a building. Our room was on the first floor, so we could hear the guests upstairs walking around, squeaking over the floor boards and running water. Breakfast is not free, but is available at the adjoining restaurant. The food and service there was great. When we checked in for our room, they did give us a $5 coupon towards breakfast.

Our small dog was allowed but there was a small charge. Rooms say no dogs but wasn't an issue. Big charge for smells in the room (smoking and such) so you know they care to keep the rooms fresh.

TL;DR Great place to stay but go into town for food. More options, lower prices, bigger portions. Do not try the breakfast unless you like waiting and not eating.

Restaurant was overpriced for the portions served. Food was decent. Only had dinner as the breakfast experience was a nightmare and we left without ordering. One young woman was working her ass off while the older woman never even got around to getting us menus. Had to go up and ask for one and she spoke to me as if I should've known where they were (even though everyone else the other woman served received menus without waiting 15 min and having to get up to find them?). Rude. Watched the more competent woman take the order of a table of 6 people and serve 2 other tables while our waitress was nowhere to be found. Heard the competent waitress ask her to do her own coffees as people were getting impatient and she went around and did 2 refills without bothering to get us a cup! It was so bad it was hilarious. Final straw was watching our waitress (if I can even call her that because she never waited on us) COUGH INTO HER HAND and then touch a glass. Didn't wait to see what poor person got that glass, didn't want her to bring it over to us. End of rant about restaurant. Overall 1/5.

Rented a room with a beautiful view for a night or two in July 2017 & enjoyed an awesome meal in their onsite restaurant! Would definitely recommend to family & friends.

Loud area with a variety of annoying sounds that went on all night, loud people in the parking lot late at night, and occasional bikers trying to be as loud as possible. The shower temperature will fluctuate at the start, but it evens out later on. The room is okay and there is a nice view. Wifi here is good. The breakfast was great though, but you have to pay.

Cute rooms. A/C and small fridge. Strange bathroom in our room as the toilet and tub were in a different room than the sink. Bathroom awkwardly tiny.

Overall, lovely stay in a cute town. Not too busy, perfect place to stay if you want a few days of exploring mixed with a day of shopping and a couple days of relaxing. It's outside the town but not a significant drive and the silence and solitude is worth it.
